Location planning

Where are you planning to film?
We are planning to use the house of our main actress, Heather. We believe her house has the perfect set out, and location to we need to create the effects and emotions we are ideally intending.

Her house is just a 5 min walk from a large orchard field that we also intend to use (in the image included). As heather owns part of this orchard we should not have a problem getting permission for filming. For the beginning of our horror introduction, we plan to show flashing images of how the other girls died - hanging in a tree, and cutting too deep. We will be able to film the hanging part of the orchard by simply making a noose and putting it on a tree branch.

I will write a formal email to Heather's mother asking for permission to film on her land. I will take pictures of the letter.

 Why this location?
Heather's house is closely packed in with other similar houses. The house is highlighted on the map screenshot. As all the houses are so close together, a sense of claustrophobia is created, and the idea that the character has no where to go. Her house is also in the corner, just like the spirit will be in the introduction to the film -never out in the open. Throughout the introduction, the audience should also get a sense that the character has been cornered into trying to figure out what is happening around her. Another advantage of having the houses all close together is that it provides more shadows, and areas of poor viability- a good place for an Antagonist to be standing.

What problem could occur during filming?
There are many possible implications. The most likely ones will probably be weather, and lighting, We should not having a problem with filming permission, as the land we are using belongs to Heather's mother.
We will be filming everything at least twice. If weather conditions change between shots, the final outcome will not look as good as we would like. We will have to look ahead at weather forecasts to decide when the condition will be ideal for filming.
Lighting may also be a problem. We plan to film during the late twilight, so that it is not too light, or dark. We also need lamp-street light in the background to create the emotions intended. As we are deciding to film during the twilight, we are going to be pressed for time, to make the level of light look the same from shot to shot. We may need to film over the course of a few days. This also makes another problem as our actress may not be available to help us over the course of a few days

The areas you plan to film in, what do they look like and what effects can you create?
These pictures were taken inside Heather's house at roughly 10am. These are the main areas we are going to use during the filming. As you can see, the house interior is dark. There are not that many windows, and the hallway is very narrow, which is perfect for creating a sense of fear, and confinement. The fear can be created though the darkness, and the sense of confinement is created by the narrow hallway.
